Federation of School Sports Association of the Philippines (FESSAP) President David Ong named Senator Antonio Trillanes as the country’s delegation head to the 28th Summer Universiade in Gwangju City, Korea scheduled on July 3 to 14, 2015.
Ong together with FESSAP Chairman of the Board Alvin Tai Lian and Federation of Filipino Chinese Chamber of Commerce Industries Incorporated Executive Vice President Angel Ngu has already met Trillanes in a meeting held at the latter’s office in the Senate of the Philippines in Pasay City.
They discussed the country’s preparation for the world meet sanctioned by the International University Federation (FISU).
The Philippines will participate in athletics, badminton, basketball, golf, judo, shooting, swimming, table tennis, lawn tennis and tae kwon do.
The National Students Championships will serve as the qualifying meet. It will be held in October and November.
The Philippine Swimming League, on the other hand, is staging its own qualifying through its Leg Series.
